February Favorites!

Bath Products

L'oreal Eversleek Argan Oil
I've always heard good things about Argan and Moroccan oil for hair. I must say that when I first tried this out, I kind of freaked out when I realized that it was an actual oil. Fears aside, I ran this through my damp hair and when it dried, I couldn't believe the softness and shine that was left! It's an amazing protectant against heat damage and it makes my hair incredibly silky and smooth.

Soap & Glory Clean On Me

Soap and Glory is an amazing brand with incredible products! Clean On Me is refreshing and smells so incredibly good! I love using this in the shower and then following up with the brand's body butter.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
Because of all the heat damage that my hair has suffered from, I've been using this as a conditioner every night, rather than a mask. I've never tried any of Aussie's other products, but this one gets a gold star in my book! It makes my hair soft and it smells amazing.

Makeup

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab
I've already reviewed this foundation in previous blog posts, but I just need to say how much I love it! It makes my skin look flawless and glowing without any sparkle or glitter. I love this foundation so much and I will definitely repurchase it when I run out!!

Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Balm in Plum
Although I bought the plum-looking shade, I didn't expect it to turn into a fuchsia color on my lips! I'm not really a pink lipstick sort of person but this shade works amazingly on my skin tone! It lasts for hours without needing a touch up and it smells really good!

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara in Blackest Black
I've heard so many good things about Maybelline's mascaras but when I tried The Falsies, I absolutely hated it. It clumped all over my lashes and made them look terrible. Because of that experience, when I bought this mascara, I wasn't expecting it to work well on me. Boy was I wrong! The Rocket coats every lash and it makes my eyelashes look full, yet natural. It gives me big and voluminous lashes and I love this to bits!

Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow Palette in Impressionist
Before I bought this palette, I've always been lazy when it came to my eye makeup. Most days I would just coat my lashes with a few coats of mascara and that would be all. Now that I bought this palette, I've been wearing a daytime smokey eye every day! I run the bronzey color all over my lid and then put the gray in my crease, blending as I go. After, I line my top and bottom lashlines with a black eyeshadow instead of a heavy liner. I throw on my Rocket mascara and I have a wearable smokey eye for the day! I love this palette so much because it lasts all day without creasing and the colors are pigmented and beautiful.

Skincare

Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream
When it comes to moisturizers, I'm not picky. I usually just choose a moisturizer that smells good and works for my skin. I really love this Benefit moisturizer because it makes my skin soft and supple and serves as a good mask for night time.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
This face wash smells like roses and it removes makeup quickly and easily. I love how it works together with my Clarisonic Mia to thoroughly clean my skin!

Music

Hillsong United 'Zion'
After their 'Cornerstone' album came out, I didn't think Hillsong could get any better. I was wrong again. Their use of synthesizers give the album a more techno and modern feel to Hillsong's already fun feel! I've already done a blog post about the new album which you can check out here.

Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim is probably the creepiest, most perverted musician ever. He was popular in the 60's for his song, Tiptoe Through the Tulips With Me. Although I would never hope to meet him (which I couldn't anyway since he's long gone), I really love his songs! They're so catchy and hilarious to listen to, with his extremely high pitched voice and small ukulele.

People

Zoella
Favorite beauty blogger of the moment, should I say! Zoe's hilarious humor and her retro style is so appealing! She is very honest and funny and I just love her videos with Louise and Joe! I've also done a blog post on her where I included some of my favorites of her YouTube videos. Definitely check out her YouTube page and her blog!

Aaron Tveit

You might recognize Aaron Tveit from Les Miserables, where he plays the dreamy and handsome Enjolras. He truly is an amazing actor and singer and I mean, look at his face! He is pure eye candy!

Those are my February Favorites and I hope you enjoyed them! What are some of your favorites from this month? Let me know!

7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag

Hello everybody! I'm here with another tag, so I hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you've done this tag before and I will definitely read it!

Greed: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My least expensive beauty item would have to be the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. It was $4, yet the color payoff is amazing! It leaves my lips soft and moisturized with a hint of red to them.

My most expensive one is YSL Touche Eclat Foundation. I bought this from Sephora for $62. I love it, but the price broke my wallet.

Wrath: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I know that I can't pull off a bright pink lip color, yet I continuously buy them. MAC's Girl About Town is great for an evening look or a pop of color on certain days, but sometimes I can't wear it at all.

Gluttony: What is your most delicious beauty product?
Smell-wise, my Chloe Eau De Parfum smells heavenly. There are hints of rose, pink peony, freesia, and lychee. The perfume makes me feel very feminine and classic.

Sloth: What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?
NARS Laguna Bronzer is such a good product, yet I never use it. I'm kind of tan already, so I feel like I don't need Bronzer when I actually do.
Highlighter is something that I spend hours searching for on Sephora's website and when I get a new one I put it off to the side. Benefit's High Beam is amazing for achieving a glow without the glitter effect.

Pride: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Just like many other women, I have imperfections and flaws that I need to cover up. I can't leave the house without wearing foundation, or else I'll feel extremely insecure. I can't say enough about NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It gives me amazing coverage without looking cakey. The foundation literally gives me a youthful glow without wearing highlighter. I love it so much and I'm so stoked that I purchased it!

Lust: What attributes do you find the most attractive in the opposite sex?
Even though this has nothing to do with beauty or makeup, I'll still answer it. I have quite a list so prepare yourselves: A Christian man who loves Jesus more than he loves me, funny, smart, trustworthy, (preferably) a musician, handsome, a good friend, loving, and loyal.

Envy: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
NARS And God Created The Woman Set is absolutely gorgeous! Smokey eyes are my favorite eye look, and I know I could achieve many with this kit.

Since I am currently broke and Chanel obsessed, I would love anything and everything from the Printemps Precieux de Chanel Spring makeup collection.

Zion + Australia

Hello everybody! I am very excited. Extremely excited, should I say. Hillsong United has officially released their new album 'Zion' today! As many of you may not know, I had the privilege of going to the Hillsong Conference this past summer with a group of young adults from my church. The conference is held every summer in Sydney, Australia for a week. It was an incredible experience and it was probably the best trip I've ever gone on.

'Zion' is the newest installment for Hillsong's successful music career. The upbeat, almost dance-like music is amazing and I especially love the song 'Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)'. My favorite part of the song is in the Bridge:

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour

The song is really about walking with God even through troubled waters. Although we may feel like we are sinking, we need to remember that our lifeguard walks on the water. Jesus is the only one who can save us when we are drowning. Meet Him in Zion, the safe sanctuary where we will be able to remain with Him forever.

Foundation Tips!

Hey everyone! If you wear makeup, then you'll know that foundation is the base/canvas for your other products to go on top of! Foundation evens out skin tone, covers imperfections, and most importantly, makes girls such as me feel more confident. As we all know, women have different skin issues and skin types. There are also many questions to ask before you invest in a good foundation. Do I have oily skin? Do I need a primer? Should my foundation have SPF? How do I make my base last all day? etc. This post will hopefully answer some of the main questions most girls have when buying or using foundation to create their flawless and perfect canvas. Let's get started!

First of all, there are 4 basic skin types:

-Dry
-Normal
-Combination
-Oily

Dry Skin
Girls with dry skin tend to have tight, dehydrated skin with some rough patches and flakiness. Dry skin owners need to start off with a really good oil-based moisturizer to create a barrier to retain moisture. After the moisturizer, putting on a moisturizing primer can smooth out any roughness or flakiness so that the foundation goes on smoothly. Some good foundations for dry skin are:

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick
Bobbi's rich formula has medium buildable coverage and works great for touch ups on the go.

MAC Face & Body Foundation
One of MAC's top sellers, Face & Body can be found in the kits of makeup artists such as Lisa Eldridge and Mary Greenwell. The moisturizing elements in the foundation makes the light coverage feel like you're wearing nothing.

Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat Foundation
YSL's original light-reflective pen turned foundation has sparked quite a love among beauty bloggers and makeup artists. This foundation is free of opaque powders, giving users a dewy and healthy glow.

Normal/Combination Skin
Girls with Normal/Combination skin are very lucky. Although Combination owners can tend to get shiny in their T-zone, they typically don't have much to worry about. As I said before, a good oil-based moisturizer followed by a thin primer help foundation to go on smoothly. Here are some good foundations for girls with Normal/Combination skin:

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup
A neither dewy nor matte foundation, Neutrogena Healthy Skin keeps away blemishes and looks like nothing on the skin. It has a light coverage, so that users can appear as though they aren't wearing makeup at all.

NARS Sheer Glow
The holy grail of my foundation collection, NARS Sheer glow is anything but sheer. It's flawless and dewy finish is perfect for Normal and Combination skins. It doesn't make you look shiny, it just looks as if you're glowing from within.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
A favorite of Lisa Eldridge, Bourjois Healthy Mix is available primarily to those in Europe. Healthy Mix adds a glow to your skin, while lasting up to 16 hours. It's fruit ingredients add important skincare necessities to your skin as you wear it.

Oily Skin
Having oily skin, I struggle with acne and blotchiness on my skin quite often. When I look for foundations, I look for those with medium buildable coverage and velvety finishes. I try not to buy foundations that are too matte, as they can look cakey on the skin. I use a lightweight water-based moisturizer to tone down any oiliness on my skin, and I follow up with a radiance infused primer. These are some good picks for girls with oily skin:

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
Lightweight and velvety, Vitalumiere Aqua looks like nothing on the skin. It comes in a handy plastic container which is very helpful for those of us girls who travel a lot. It has a light-medium coverage and covers hyperpigmentation very well.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation
One of Revlon's best sellers, this is a medium-full coverage foundation. It is quite matte, but it still looks natural and lovely. I've found that the best way to apply Colorstay is to use a damp brush or a damp makeup sponge, as the liquid tends to dry quickly. It lasts all day without budging, which is good for girls whose makeup tends to slip and slide on their oily skin.

Bare Minerals Mineral Foundation
Extremely popular and well known, Bare Minerals Mineral foundation is quite velvety and easy to blend. Being a mineral foundation, it works the best on oily skins, to tone down any oily or slippery patches. It also lasts quite long and doesn't budge.
