May Favorites!

Makeup

Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Heavenly Berry

I really like these Loreal balms, as they are quite sheer but add a hint of color and shine to the lips. This one is especially pretty over a berry colored lip stick or stain!

Maybelline Color Whisper in Berry Ready

As you can tell, I've been on a Berry kick this past month! This Color Whisper is extremely pigmented. I've never seen a "balm" from the drugstore with this much color payoff. The balm is very lightweight and lasts a while without having to reapply!

NYC Liquid Lipshine in Rivington Rose

I've never used NYC's products before, for fear that they're cheaply made and poor quality. I was wrong! I used this lipgloss on a flower girl I made up for a wedding, recently. The color is gorgeous and isn't sticky at all. There isn't any sparkle to it, which is lovely for layering.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

I'm not the biggest fan of liquid highlighters, but I really love this one from Benefit! I've been mixing the tiniest drop of it with my foundation for an all over glow. It looks amazing on camera on the tops of the cheekbones as well. It looks glowy and never greasy, which is a major plus!

Benefit World Famous Neutrals Sexiest Nudes Palette

I did a review on this a couple days ago with swatches! The eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented and are wonderful to buy if you haven't tried Benefit eyeshadows before!

NYC Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara

Another surprising product from NYC! I never really stray away from my Covergirl Clump Crusher, but I needed a mascara to use on the flowergirls and bridesmaids I made up for a wedding. This mascara is amazing! I can't say enough about the brush, the lack of clumps, and the overall falsh lash effect it gives. For $2, this is an absolutely amazing buy!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Kajal Liner in Brown

I really love these Rimmel Kohl liners. They are a complete dupe for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencils, and they are incredible! I like to put this brown liner on my top lash line and smudge it out for a smokey effect. This is another wonderful drugstore buy for only $4!

Fragrance

Victoria's Secret Mist in Dream Angels Kiss

I never really use the Victoria's Secret perfumes, but I've always heard good things about them. A friend recently gave this to me and I've been using it everyday ever since! The scent is gorgeous and lasts all day! The top notes are very floral and feminine.

Benefit World Famous Neutrals Sexiest Nudes Review + Swatches!

Benefit is one of my all time favorite makeup brands, so you can guess my excitement when I received this palette as a gift from a friend! I've never tried out any of Benefit's eyeshadows before, but I've always heard amazing reviews of the pigmentation and formula. Let's jump into the review!

The kit comes with 4 powder and 2 cream shadows. As you can see from the picture above, there is a highlight color, one matte, and two shimmers. The kit also comes with a Tips and Tricks booklet describing day & nighttime looks. I really like the packaging, even though it's just cardboard. I feel like it's easy to keep everything neat and travel friendly.

The cream shadows can be used all over the lid as a base or for a sheer wash of color. "Bikini-tini" is a shimmery beige, while "Holy Smokes!" is sort of a taupe color. Both shadows provide longwear without creasing. When I used Bikini-tini under two of the eyeshadows in the kit, they wore up to 12 hours without a smudge or crease! Amazing!

Bikini-tini reminds me of MAC's Painterly paint pot.

I really love the color of Holy Smokes! The gray is beautiful and very wearable for the day time.

L-R:    Milk it! - Raincheck? - Pause for Applause - Blingo!

Now on to the powder shadows. Before I received this kit, I had yet to find a purple shadow that I really loved. I don't really like the bright purples that are easy to find nowadays, and the matte purples can be chalky and hard to work with. Raincheck? is the absolute perfect eggplant shade for the lid or the crease! At a wedding I went to on Saturday, I wore Bikini-tini as a base and then I put Pause for Applause all over my lid, with Raincheck? blended into my crease. I also put a little bit of Milk It! on my brow bone and in my inner corners as a highlight. I found this to be the most gorgeous eye pairing for the Spring and Summer! The powder eyeshadows are incredibly soft and blendable. This is my new favorite eyeshadow kit!

If you are looking at Benefit eyeshadows and are skeptical or worried about spending the money, I would recommend you to buy a kit such as this one. They retail for $30 and they are worth the money! You can get this palette or the two other Neutrals palettes in the line at Sephora!

Have any of you tried Benefit eyeshadows or palettes before? How did they perform on you? Let me know in the comments!

Blushing

Hi everyone! I know that it's been a while since I last posted and I'm so sorry for that! I've been completing my final exams for school and studying/homework have consumed my life. I hope that you guys understand. Now that I'm done with my tests, I'm back to blogging! I'm going to try to blog everyday or every other day throughout June, which will be a fun task!

I'm back today with a sort of "handbag wish list" type of post! For Spring and Summer, I've really been loving pastel/blush pinks. I feel like when I really invest in a handbag, I tend to gravitate towards neutrals and blacks, because I think that they are the only colors that will match all of my outfits. I've been very wrong! Fun colors such as pastels and neons are capable of matching just as well. Because of my love for blush pinks, I am really loving handbags in that color! Here are some of my picks:
J. Crew Biennial Medium Satchel

Coach Medium Candace Carryall

Marc Jacobs Classic Q Lil Ukita Satchel

Summer Beauty Must Haves!

Hey guys! Now that Spring is coming to a close and school is ending, it's easy to feel the excitement of a quickly approaching Summer! Here are some of my beauty must haves for the Summer time and stay tuned for my next post of my fashion must haves!

Skincare

Diorsnow White Reveal UV Protection SPF 50
SPF is incredibly important when it comes to the Summer time. When the sun is out and it's scorching hot, your skin will need all the protection it needs. This Dior sunscreen is fragrance-free and it's translucent.

Shiseido Refreshing Sun Protection Spray SPF 16
A refreshing body, hair, and scalp treatment coats every body part with SPF 16. The light mist is comfortable and is easy to apply!

Makeup

Diorskin Nude BB Creme

Dior's Nude line is incredible and their BB creme is very pigmented. The SPF covers the skin as to protect it from the sun's harmful rays. It's better to wear a tinted moisturizer or BB creme during the summer because of the light coverage without heaviness.

Tarte Smooth Operator Waterproof Concealer

If a BB creme isn't enough coverage for you, a waterproof concealer is very helpful. This one from Tarte covers blemishes and dark circles without creasing.

Makeup Forever Aqua Cream
Creme shadows are perfect for layering pigments without worrying about creasing. These Aqua Creams are incredibly pigmented and they stay on all day, even in humidity!

Tarte Aqualillies Waterproof Eye & Cheek Palette

This palette was specially made for the Aqualillies swimming group! All of the eyeshadows and cheek products are waterproof so that the ladies of the Aqualillies would be able to wear them in the water. The products are made out of Tarte's infamous Amazonian Clay and they stay put all day long.

Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Mascara
Every girl needs a good waterproof mascara that won't clump or melt and this one is amazing! The brush leaves no clumps or flakes on the lashes and it stays put without worry of melting.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee
A two in one product, this gelee works on both the lips and cheeks. Although it looks like an impossible color to work with, it goes on very sheer. The gelee is hydrating and smells of coconut, which is lovely! Cream and gel cheek products are the best to work with for the Summer time.

Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balm
Lip balms are incredibly important for the Summer time. There are tons of different flavored and tinted balms out there, but this one just smells wonderful! It serves its purpose to hydrate and moisturize the lips and it's a great product for hot days.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
Fresh makes amazing products for lips and skincare. This lip treatment has a gorgeous red tint to it and its incredibly moisturizing. It smells wonderful and it also has SPF in it. Overall, it's a great lip product!

Seeing Double

Us ladies all have that dream designer handbag that we lust after and always admire in Bloomingdales. Often times, those gorgeous purses are outrageously expensive. Although they are an important staple piece within a wardrobe, not many of us can quickly hand over $1,000 without saving and cringing. I've recently spotted a couple of purses that in my mind, are lovely basics and are both outrageous. Coming from two of the most influential designer brands, these purses are some of my dream handbags. Along with those purses, I will include a "look alike": a cheaper alternative that is just as well made and equally beautiful. I hope you all enjoy this post and let me know in the comments what some of your dream handbags are!

Prada Saffiano Executive Tote vs. Zara Office City Bag
 Seeing Double
While the Prada tote is priced at $1,960, the Zara look alike is $89.90. The inside of the bags have 3 zippered pockets and they have a shoulder strap included.

3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel vs. Topshop Winged Tote

Seeing Double
Although there are quite some differences between these two handbags, they look very similar. For example, the leather on the Pashli is a texturized cow leather, while the Topshop tote is a silky faux leather. They both have double zippers and a clasp closure. The Pashli is priced at $825 and the Topshop tote is $90.
