Glamour Gems

There's nothing I love more than a great read full of beauty and fashion bits, lifestyle advice, and career options, and the April issue of Glamour Magazine was chock full of everything. From hair tutorials to tips on how to build the best resume, the issue was hands down one of the best I've read. These "gems" of advice are the best of the best and I wanted to share them with you!

Six Reasons Why I Would Hire You- Page 38
Glamour Editor in Chief Cindi Leive offers amazing advice on how to be the best job applicant. Her many years of experience in the magazine industry add to her credibility and her witty style of writing is impeccable.

The Rise of the Good Guys- Page 74
Jason Kennedy, E! News anchor and Bible study leader is the epitome of a good guy in the midst of chaotic Hollywood. His leadership skills are clearing the way for the "boys next door" in the industry to prove that celebrities aren't all bad people.

The Month in Nails- Page 120-122
30 gorgeous nail paint jobs are on display in bright colors and eye catching nail art. From buttercup yellow to radiant orchid (Pantone's color of the year), you're sure to find a manicure that's perfect for you!

About Time! Proenza Schouler Finally Has a Makeup Line- Page 124
The edgy-cool fashion line has easily branched out into the realm of makeup, launching their beauty collaboration with MAC! The colors in the line are all bright and fun with emphasis on a bold lip (as seen in their fall 2007 show). The collection is sure to be a sell-out so keep your eyes glued on the MAC website for a release date and the possibility of pre-ordering!

Try Taylor's Glam Bob- Page 128
Taylor Swift is as well known for her hair as she is for her music and her newest haircut left the world buzzing. Her personal hairstylist, Jemma Muradian shows the 4 steps to get Taylor's gorgeously curled bob!

The "No Makeup" Approach- Page 152
As a beauty junkie myself, it's easy to get caught up in the routine and pile on product after product. Blogger Stephanie Lee had a similar outlook and when she decided to have a make under, she learned even more about how to create a natural, beautiful face!

The Glamour Guide to Brunch- Page 189-192
Yes, finally an in depth walk through on brunch! I've mentioned before that brunch is my favorite meal and this guide has easily shown me how to create and host a Glamour approved spread.

The New Black- Page 204-211
This article presents 8 new ways to wear black during the springtime in a modern and fresh way. I loved this look of mixing a structured black top with an artsy print. Art inspired pieces are in style for the spring and the simple shapes are so chic.
