Today was an amazing day in college football. With the Baylor Bears down 37-58 in the fourth quarter against the TCU Horned Frogs, most of the BU fans were ready to give up on their beloved team (myself included). However, the Bears quickly turned a not-so-great game around by scoring 24 points in the remaining 11 minutes of the final quarter. I won't go too in depth on the game but instead take a look at what different articles had to say here, here and here
TCU played a really tough, great game and surprisingly seemed to be the better team for the whole of the three quarters. In the end, the Bears caught up almost magically and beat the Horned Frogs because of a fabulous kick by Chris Callahan (arguably the MVP of the night). Other notable Bears today were WR Corey Coleman with 2 TDs and 144 yards on 8 catches, RB Shock Linwood with 178 rushing yards on 29 carries, WR Antwan Goodley with a 66-yard TD reception and 158 receiving yards, WR KD Cannon (my favorite!) with 124 yards on 6 catches with a 67-yard TD catch. Last but not least, PK Chris Callahan had a 22-yard field goal in the 1st, 29-yard field goal in the 2nd, 20-yard field goal in the 3rd, and the game winning 28-yard field goal in the last 4 seconds of the game (Baylor Bears Athletics).
Overall, it was a great day to be a Baylor Bear and no one knows it better than QB Bryce Petty who said, "For us, it's just another statement game. It's just another chance to prove we're here to stay. It doesn't matter who you put on the other side of the field, it's a huge opportunity for us on the national scale — and we did it again," (USA Today).
Baylor will play West Virginia University on Saturday October 18th and 11 am CT on Fox Sports 1.
