After a grueling week of long practices, rain, 90 degree weather and intense sunburns, I've finally finished my last band camp. It seems like yesterday I was heading to my first camp filled with anxiety and worries. I was scared to meet new people and become the "baby" once again. My first band camp was filled with the hardest work I've ever done, practices with people I didn't know, and nights full of me puking my guts out (pretty, I know). As the years have gone by, I've experienced both heart wrenching pain and amazing success on the field and in the band room. It probably sounds nerdy and weird to talk about my band experience on TIN, but it truly has become a part of who I am. Above all the blood, sweat, and tears that I've put into each show for the past three years, I've found bits and pieces of myself in band. I met my best friends on the field and I discovered my passion for music and leadership throughout the Wednesday and Saturday rehearsals. It's bittersweet to start my last year of band, but I know that I'll give my all to make it the best year yet.
As a beauty blogger, I'm constantly on the hunt for the newest and most innovative beauty and skincare items. Collections and products are always thrown all over my bathroom counter and end up in piles in my plastic organizing containers. Going through products takes time and I never end up using a whole tube or container.
However, in my stash I've recently used up two of my holy grail products in a quick amount of time. The Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix is hands down the best skin clearing product I've ever used. The gel/liquid feels lightweight on the skin and goes on completely clear. It doesn't dry up the skin leaving it cracked or flakey unlike most acne medications. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is probably my favorite purchase of 2014 because of its creamy texture and full coverage. I use this under my eyes and on any blemishes and it doesn't look cakey on either one.
These products have been extremely loved throughout the past few months and I have no doubt in my mind that I'll be repurchasing them time and time again.

Happy National Lipstick Day everyone! Lipstick is hands down my favorite beauty product to shop for (as you can probably tell from the photos above) because it makes me feel confident and pretty throughout the day. Whenever I'm feeling a bit lackluster or glum, I swipe a bold red on my lips and I instantly feel gratified. I encourage all of you to wear your favorite lipstick and have a fantastic, colorful day!

Even though I'm a huge fan of high end makeup, I've been loving the drugstore beauty aisles recently. From the new Covergirl Instaglam collection to the Revlon Moisture Stains, the affordable beauty brands have been hitting the mark every time. I'm enjoying using the Rimmel Glam'Eye Trio in Orion, which I rediscovered when I 'shopped my stash'. The trio includes a shimmery highlight, taupe-mauve, and chocolate brown that are all incredibly pigmented. I applied the mauve shade all over my lid and defined my crease with the dark brown. Because the brown shade is neutral, it can do double the work on the eyes and in the brows. On my lips, I've really been loving the Covergirl Colorlicious Lip Gloss in 4093. The bright orange translates into a flattering warm coral on the lips and is perfect for the summer time! The lip gloss is very pigmented and doesn't feel sticky at all (a big plus for girls who leave their hair down). Both drugstore purchases are amazing and have taught me to shop my stash more often!

Yes, I know every person and their dog watches Game Of Thrones as its become a cult sensation. When I first heard of the show, all of the violence and sexuality sounded too intense for me until I watched the first episode. My sister reeled me into the excitement of Westeros and the Iron Throne until I was absolutely obsessed. I've been captivated by the Wall and the Knight's Watch through the Dothraki and Winterfell. Each character is so brilliantly played and I'm always swept up into the story lines. I immediately fell in love with Jon Snow, Arya, the Hound, Tyrion, and Bronn and talk about them as if they're real friends of mine. Game of Thrones has such an amazing plot that makes it hard to stop watching. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a new guilty pleasure!

Whilst in San Francisco for the 4th of July weekend, we were graciously invited to my dad's friends house for the holiday. They had a lovely house overlooking the whole city with a couple of cats thrown into the mix. Over champagne and sausages, we dined and fellowshiped together until the sun started to set. For dessert, we had a rather patriotic white cake with blueberries and strawberries that was delicious! The time spent together was fantastic and we left the house feeling joyful and stuffed. It was indeed and wonderful 4th of July in the city!

There's nothing I despise more than black eyeliner, which is a beauty struggle I've had for a while. I'm not a fan of a harsh black line around the eyes or a smudged waterline (personal preference). However, I've recently been experimenting with shadow as a liner. Sometimes I want a bit more definition around the eyes that a crease shade can't provide, which is when I've been teaching for a chocolate brown powder and liner brush. A thin line in between the top lashes smudged out looks especially lovely when paired with a bold lip (as pictures above). The powder liner is much easier on the eyes and makes the pupils pop!

I've spoken about my 'least favorite products' before on TIN and I usually toss them out after writing a post on them. After realizing that my initial thoughts on said products could eventually change, I've begun to keep them in my bathroom in a separate container for further review. Two beauty/skin products I've really been enjoying after disappointment are The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and the Rimmel Glam'Eyes Trio Eyeshadow in Orion. The cleansing oil was too greasy and heavy for my skin when I first tried it out, which was really disappointing. I'd also never tried an oil before so I didn't like the remnants of it left over on my eyelashes. After using it again for a couple of weeks, I'm really enjoying using it! The oil takes off every bit of makeup left on my skin and gets the gunk out of my pores. The Rimmel trio seemed to lack pigmentation and lasting power on my greasy eyelids. I really love the shades in the mini palette so I recently decided to try it out again. I've been applying the light mauve shade on my lids as a wash of color and then brushing the matte chocolate brown in the crease. The brown shade also matches my brows perfectly, so it's definitely a multitasking palette for the brunettes out there! The lasting power is still 'meh', but I'm willing to lose a few hours of shadow for the gorgeous colors in the palette!

If you've been a reader of "This Is Noelle" for a while, you probably noticed that the lip colors I tend to sport are red and pink. However, I've discovered the wonderful world of orange in recent weeks. A bold orange lip has been quite trendy for the spring and summer and I've been wanting to try it out. This lip gloss from Katy Perry's Instaglam collection by Covergirl immediately caught my eye when I saw it on display. The bright orange shade isn't too warm that it overpowers my face, yet it's definitely a statement maker. The gloss itself is lightweight and fairly opaque without being sticky or gloopy. I've been wearing this color everyday and I can't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon!

As a Nordstrom cardholder, I've had access to the store's annual Anniversary Sale weeks before other shoppers. The sale is massive with amazing steals on the items I would normally stray away from during my "no paycheck months" (aka fall-spring). I've found some phenomenal buys from the store and I can't wait to purchase some of them! FYI: The sale is open to the general public now!)

Whenever I'm visiting a new place, one of my favorite things to do is explore the city to see all that is has to offer. I've been going to San Francisco all my life, but it's still nice to discover new cafes and boutiques that I never would have discovered if I hadn't trekked through the many different areas. My dad has always been the "tour guide" of the family and he seeks out new breakfast places and coffee shops to dine at. This trip, we were able to leisurely walk through the main city area of SF without feeling rushed or hurried along. It was lovely to stop and take pictures whenever I passed a lovely house or building. When you're in a new city, take your time and take in all that the place has to offer you during your stay!

Because I'm a blogger, I'm always looking for inspiration and post ideas from pop culture and the world around me. For the past few years, I've been going back to the same fashion and beauty blogs as they constantly produce amazing content and photos. Although there are thousands and thousands of blogs in the interweb, there are a handful that I go back to time and time again.
Anna- Vivianna Does Makeup. Anna is the ultimate cool British babe who is my main beauty inspiration in life. Her content is absolutely incredible and her videos have become my go to on YouTube. With a nack for wit and impressive photography skills, Anna showcases her no makeup makeup looks with ease and inspires me to do the same. Her weekly vlogs with boyfriend Mark are my favorites to watch and always leave me wanting more!
Amelia- Liana Beauty. Amelia is another British gal that posts daily about the beauty world. A girl after my own heart, she can always be seen sporting a smokey eye and flawless skin on the streets of London. Her nails are always in tip top shape and her polish picks are definitely on point each season. If there's one person that can enable me to purchase a makeup item, it's Amelia.
Julia- Gal Meets Glam. There's always that one blogger that seems to have a picture perfect life and that's Julia Engel. Her San Francisco life is one that I envy constantly from her layered outfits to her perfectly arranged desktop situation. Julia's instagram is fantastically organized, delivering photos of the SF Farmer's Market to her current favorite Bare Minerals products. Julia has the most amazing wardrobe pieces that any girl would be lucky to own!
Rach- Pink Peonies. Another enviable closet is owned by Rach, an always dressed to kill 24 year old from Salt Lake City. From her Valentino Rockstud heels to her Saint Laurent handbags, Rach showcases the most recent designer items on her blog. Her photos are the highest quality and her blog content is fabulous!

Whilst in San Francisco I popped in to Nordstrom (of course) and I found this adorable matching separates set. I instantly fell in love with the print and the buttery soft fabric, which reminded me of my favorite brand- Joie. Although I didn't purchase the separates, I still reminisce about them (I sound like I'm talking about people) and I desperately wish I bought them when I had the chance! Hopefully they'll be in the Anniversary Sale and I'll get a second chance with my favorite separates.

Day one of our San Francisco trip continued with a visit to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and the stationary brand Typo. Although I'm not a huge fan of donuts, I just had to try out the Cake Batter donut, which was amazing. We picked out some of the original glazed, chocolate, apple cinnamon, and filled donuts. We also picked up some of the donut holes for only $2, which made my dad extremely happy. After dining on In-N-Out and Krispy Kreme, we stopped at a mall close to the airport and visited one of my favorite stores: Typo. I first learned about Typo when I shopped at one in Australia during my trip to the country. Typo has the most adorable (very hipster) stationary including notebooks, clocks, pencil cases, and cards. As soon as I saw the notebook pictured above, I immediately bought it because of its adorable catch phrase. Thus ends a great first day in SF!

Family nights at home have slowed down a bit since we came home from our trip, so it was lovely to have one last night. My mom made some of her chili, which was absolutely amazing. We started outside on our patio but shortly made our way to our dining room as it started to rain. It was really nice to spend time with each other after long days at work and taking care of Scout. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
