Welcome Back!

After a three week hiatus and some much deserved rest, I'm finally back! Over the past three weeks I've completed my last marching band tournaments (post coming soon), taught myself how to play the oboe, worked on a bus-load's worth of homework, planned blogposts, and overall been an extremely busy bee. Now that the quarter is winding down (even though my homework load has not), I feel excited about TIN. My mindset has been refreshed and my heart for this little blog is renewed.

Thank you so much for all of your patience and support over this three week M.I.A. session. I honestly missed writing and filming and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things! One final note is that I will not be writing everyday like I used to. Some weeks I'll be writing six days, others will be five. I hope you understand that this blog is a priority but it also is a hobby and sometimes I need a break. A day or two a week of rest will give me the time and energy I need to produce quality content for my readers. Thank you again for everything and I hope you're glad to have my little piece of internet back!

A Blogging Break

If you've been a dedicated reader of This Is Noelle, you probably would have noticed the lack of posts for the past two days. It's very unlike me to go a day without posting on this 'ole blog of mine as I've posted nearly every day for the past 11 months. Throughout my time as a blogger I've loved writing and taking photographs for upcoming posts and planned them accordingly in a monthly planner. Seasonal posts got me excited for the different times in the year and I was always positive and happy about TIN. However, for the past few months I've been quite uninspired and overall lackluster about writing and posting. I'm not sure if it's 'blogging burnout' or simple writer's block, but I feel like I need to take a break from this online world of mine.

Beauty and Fashion Blogging is an extremely time-consuming hobby that consumes not only hours of my day but also the money out of my pocket as I feel the need to constantly purchase new products and clothing pieces to show all of you. What started out as a fun little side-activity has turned into a (hopeful) job opportunity for me one day and the pressure of posting every day and filming weekly videos has become a bit too much.

The college process, homework, school, band, and having a social life take up most of my time and my blog has been thrust into the background of my life in recent months. I always want to produce the best quality content for you all to read and watch but I feel like my writing has been quite lukewarm as of late. I think a much needed one-two week break (or maybe until Thanksgiving) will hopefully give me the inspiration I need to get back into my blogging/filming routine and will refresh my content as well.

The feelings of doubt and the lack of self-confidence has also greatly impacted TIN. There are millions of blogs in the online world and only a few lead the blogging world in terms of celebrity and monetization. I know that becoming famous or making money off of my blog isn't the purpose of why I write or film, but feeling like I'm not successful or that there's no reason to write if no one is reading is quite impactful on me. I put loads of time and money into my blog and YouTube channel and sometimes I feel like it makes no sense to write or film if it's just a teeny tiny part of the online world that no one is seeing.

I know that there are some of you out there that have been dedicated readers to TIN and for that, I want to thank you. This isn't goodbye (not by a long shot), but a simple see you soon as I should be back within a few weeks. There are a lot of things that I need to work on and plan for the betterment of TIN and I just need a bit of a break in order to write and film to the best of my ability. Thank you so much for all of your support the past two years and I will definitely be back with some amazing content in a few weeks!

The Sketchbook for Budding Designers

Once upon a blue moon I desperately dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. I fiercely drew my sketches in notebooks and tossed them into my bed drawer for safe keeping. I religiously watched Project Runway and hoped that one day I would be a designer, presenting my work in front of fashion moguls such as Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, and Heidi Klum. Nowadays, I'm more interested in the written side of fashion, mainly this 'ole blog of mine and high couture magazines, tossing my design dreams under my bed like I did my sketchbooks.

Enter Fashionary: a sketchbook made for fashion designers with built in fashion dictionary and drawn in models. I picked up this book years ago when my dreams were still floating in the air. This book contains everything a young, budding fashion designer would need in order to get their basics in the design world down. From an index of every fashion designer in the world to the different types of stitches, Fashionary has young hopefuls in mind and on hand. The gray book is slim and compact, yet packs a punch as it's filled with information and beautiful models ready to be drawn on. If you're a hopeful designer, check out Fashionary; it has everything you need!

The Best Basics

In the massive world of fashion, name brands, designers, and copycats, there are a few that stand out in my book. One brand in particular is called James Perse- a California casual and cozy label. JP creates the most soft and comfortable basic tops, outerwear, and bottoms that I've ever worn and I don't go a day without wearing one of their pieces. My current favorites are the basic t-shirts and tank tops that can be dressed up with a skirt and some heels, or dressed down with jeans and boots (my favorite way to wear them). The pieces are made very well, last forever, are soft to the touch, and feel lightweight and airy- the perfect California girl staples.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

When it comes to skincare, I've stuck to the basics for a while- cleanse, tone, moisturize. I usually used a gentle milky cleanser to clean, a facial spray to tone, and a lightweight moisturizer to hydrate. One step that I didn't think of is to use facial pads as my exfoliator and toner. The First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads changed my whole outlook on what a proper toner is. The pads are exfoliating on one side and soothing on the other without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. They come in a tub of 60 for $30, which is quite affordable for the number of pads soaked in AHA acids. After using the exfoliating pads for around one month, I've noticed that my skin feels softer and smoother and the number of spots I get has greatly reduced. If you're looking for a milder exfoliating product that doesn't irritate the skin, then I highly recommend these FAB pads!

What is this? Two videos in one week? I overachieved this week and decided to film two videos to upload whilst I'm in the great state of Texas. October was filled with pretty clothes and fabulous drugstore/high end makeup that I loved. I hope you like this video and don't forget to like it and subscribe to my channel!
