The Fairmont Copley Plaza

While in Boston, my family and I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in Copley Plaza. We are avid fans of the Fairmont franchise and try to stay at one of their hotels wherever we travel. After quite a few visits to different Fairmont locations, we've become 'members' of the Gold Club. The Gold members stay on the fourth floor of the hotel and have access to free food and drinks all day and night. The Gold Floor is always stunning and the food spread is incredible!

The Copley Plaza location is right in the heart of downtown. It's right next to the Boston Public Library and is a block or two away from Newbury Street, which has arguably the best shopping in all of Boston! The hotel is grand and the dogs that roam around the lobby are so cute. We love staying at a Fairmont hotel wherever we go and plan to continue!

Fresh Natural Pinks

Throughout the summer my beauty routine has consisted of fresh skin, glossy lips, and sheeny lids. This look takes about 10 minutes in the morning and lasts all day with a few touch ups. I like to start off by applying my new Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Ginger all over my face for a base with a hint of coverage. This product is extremely lightweight and has light coverage but lasts well on the skin. Instead of using a mattifying powder to set the tinted moisturizer, I've been dusting on a bit of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation in the shade Light-Medium Neutral. I love this powder to add a little more coverage without losing the glow. I fill in my brows as usual with my favorite Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette and apply the shimmery pink shade called Pushup from the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette before adding lashings of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. On the cheeks, I love a healthy dose of color. My favorite bronzer is The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in Medium Matte and my current blush love is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blushing Bride. For the lips, I found my perfect "my lips but better" product in the form of the NARS Lipstick in Dolce Vita. My perfect summer makeup is sorted.

Reinventing the Basecoat

I took a long break from wearing nail polish but have recently started reapplying my favorite shades to my fingers. After running out of my Revlon base coat, I picked up the ORLY Bonder Rubberized Basecoat from Target. This base came highly recommended from Lily's blog and I can see why she loves it so much! When applied thinly, it dries to a sticky finish, which allows every polish to adhere nicely. It doesn't bubble up or go patchy so my nail varnishes look smooth and the colors pop. It's a bit more expensive than my usual favorite but for $10.99, it makes my polishes last up to nine days without chips!

Dogs and Dartmouth | Vlog

The third and fourth days of my east coast trip were spent roaming around Dartmouth and finding dogs wherever I went. The weather was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the company was always fun!

The Everyday Cleanser

I tend to switch up my facial cleansers whenever I please, so I'm usually not dedicated to one specific brand or product. I've used gels, creams, foams, and the lot in the past and have experienced dryness, irritation, and breakouts from changing my skincare. After much experimentation, I decided to stick to one cleanser in the form of The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash. This cleanser is creamy and has a thicker texture, which hydrates and soothes the skin. It says that it removes makeup but I usually just use it for a second cleanse after using a cleansing oil. I use this day and night and it has balanced my skin out so that it's not as oily. I love this for everyday and will continue to use it as it's a budget friendly option!

A Chic and Affordable Maxi

Old Navy dressKate Spade clutchDaniel Wellington watch, DvF sunglasses (old, similar here), Nine West pumps

Lately I've been loving flowy maxi dresses so I was ecstatic when I found this gorgeous blue one from Old Navy! The dress is cotton and is fully lined without being too heavy. I love the accents of robin's egg blue throughout the lengths and thin belt around the waist. I wore this dress to my sister's graduation and paired it with this beautiful woven Kate Spade clutch and nude pumps. This is the perfect summer maxi that looks especially lovely against a tan!

Summer Time Around Dartmouth

Prior to my family's east coast trip, I had never seen Dartmouth's campus. Even though my sister Megan had gone to the university for four years, I hadn't found the time to fly to Hanover and visit. As soon as we arrived on campus, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. My parents had talked about the large brick buildings and the "big green" (aka the lawn in the middle of campus) with excitement in their voices. I bet the college is spectacular during the winter, but I loved it in the summer. The trees are bushy and green and the sky is always blue. I enjoyed walking around the campus and seeing all of the places where Megan hung out or studied. I especially loved the gelato store in the middle of the town. Dartmouth is beautiful and is a must-see if one is ever in Vermont or New Hampshire!

West Coast to East Coast | Vlog

I hope you all enjoyed my first blog as much as I enjoyed creating it! After receiving my Canon S120, I've been using it everyday whilst recording all of my daily activities. It's been a really fun adventure of learning how to vlog properly without feeling self conscious or making others feel uncomfortable. I think it's so much fun to record and video what my family and I are doing throughout the day so that I don't miss any small moments that I would have forgotten otherwise. I hope you like this video as well!

An Ivy Graduation

The main point of my family's big summer trip to the East Coast was for my sister Megan's graduation. Megan was attending Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire for the past four years and just graduated with Honors in English/Creative Writing. It was exciting for me to visit Dartmouth because although she's been on campus for four years, I had never seen the school before. Dartmouth is a beautiful college campus located in a small town with boutiques and restaurants. Hanover is quaint and is exactly what I expected for a university town.

Megan's graduation was a lovely ceremony. Unfortunately because of limited seating, my family and I had to be on campus by 6:30 am even though the program didn't start until 10 am. The sun was shining brightly and the sky was clear, which made everything look so beautiful. I may have fallen asleep once or twice from 6:30-1:30, but I wasn't complaining (okay, I was a little). I was so happy to be at Dartmouth to celebrate Megan and her best friends in their huge accomplishments and I wish I visited earlier!

The last picture above is Megan's best friends Josh and Zander rocking their new Dartmouth ties and orchid lei. Although the combination of the ties and their patterned shirts is unconventional, they have the potential to become their own versions of male fashion bloggers!

The Best Rustic Meal of My Life

After 'Yelp-ing' our way through Long Island, NY, we discovered the most beautiful restaurant for dinner. The Farm Country Kitchen is a rustic restaurant in Riverhead that offers homemade sandwiches, soups, desserts, salads, pastas, and other entrees in a home-turned-eatery on the lake. The decor is unique and enhances the warm, homely vibe of the restaurant. From bright flower arrangements to wooden chairs by the lake, the Farm Country Kitchen nails it in interiors.

The menu has something for everyone (even picky eaters) and the food tastes fresh and delicious. I had a marinated pork chop with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and roasted pesto vegetables and I inhaled the whole meal. It was incredible! The restaurant also has a large number of homemade desserts paired with the thickest and most delectable whipped cream. We ordered an array of desserts but the standouts were the two-layer chocolate cake and the chocolate mouse cake. I can't wait to go back to Long Island one day and eat at the kitchen again! It was hands down one of the best eating experiences I've ever had.
