Baylor vs. Texas Tech Recap
Baylor's Big 12 opener against the Texas Tech Red Raiders was a fast-paced, high scoring nail-biter at Arlington stadium. The Red Raiders are an extremely underestimated unranked team that is just as quick on offense as are the Bears. Led by head coach Kliff Kingsbury and athletic double threat QB Patrick Mahomes, Tech looked just as good as any top 10 team but couldn't keep up with the offensive powerhouse that is the Baylor Bears. Baylor QB Seth Russell passed for 286 yards with four passing TDs and two rushing scores. He threw for 15 of 23 with only one interception. RB Shock Linwood was explosive early in the game by rushing for a career high of 221 yards and two TDs. WR Corey Coleman had seven catches for 110 yards and three TDs. The Baylor defense worked hard against a speedy Mahomes and upbeat offense by taking advantage of Tech's fumbles and holding them back on many third downs throughout the game. Safeties Orion Stewart and Chance Waz and Nickleback Patrick Levels led the defense in recovering fumbles and putting pressure on Mahomes and co. The Baylor Bears will play the Kansas Jayhawks on October 10th at 11 am in Kansas.
