This updated roster isn't complete yet as only four players from the incoming 2016 class are listed, which is why this list seems a little short. The new names on the roster include freshman QB Zach Smith, freshman WR Tren'Davian Dickson, junior OL B.J. Autry, junior TE Jayson Clements, and junior DL Jeremy Faulk. All of the freshmen are early enrollees who will be participating in spring drills and the juniors are JUCO transfers (except for Clements). It's important to recruit guys from junior colleges and other universities in general because they've already had experience on the field and can immediately start contributing to the team. A couple of position changes on the roster include former WR Davion Hall's switch to S, which is a huge deal for the team. Hall is a tremendous athlete who played on both sides of the ball in high school and gained interest from school's all over the nation. Although he was a highly ranked recruit, Hall hasn't seemed to find his groove as a WR because of the depth of receivers Baylor has (they're called wide receiver u for a reason). Trying to compete with stars like Corey Coleman, KD Cannon, and Ish Zamora is a difficult feat, so the switch to S will allow Hall to finally show his talents. Former WRs Kaleb Moore and Jourdan Blake have also switched to S for the upcoming season. Fans might notice that former LB Kendall Ehrlich is no longer listed on the roster. There is no news surrounding his departure, so I'm not sure if he's going to transfer schools or if he's graduating early. Another piece of noteworthy news is that Chris Johnson is no longer listed as QB but rather a WR/TE. I'm expecting to see him in rotation for TE more than receiver because that will be a position of need with the departing of Gus Penning and LaQuan McGowan to graduation. There are currently only three other TEs- Jordan Feuerbacher (redshirted all of last season but his redshirt was pulled when Penning went down with injury), Sam Tecklenburg, and transfer Jayson Clements. Johnson's size and speed make him a great candidate to compete for a starting TE spot as WRU is already loaded with incredible receivers. That's all the news for now, folks! Spring ball is starting tomorrow, which means that the football season is just around the corner. The greatest time of the year is almost upon us!
