The Iconic Game | Baylor vs. TCU 2014

It was the game that sparked one of the most heated rivalries in college football. Dubbed as the greatest game of the 2014 season, Baylor vs. TCU inspired and haunted football fans across the nation. Think about the stereotypical Hollywood movie ending: the underdog is seconds away from defeat until he rises from the ashes and wins the war. Although Baylor was ranked No. 5, four slots above TCU, the Horned Frogs were demolishing the former on their home turf.

Quarterback Bryce Petty led the Bears to the comeback of the season when the team overcame a 21-point fourth quarter deficit within the final 10 minutes of the game. The Petty-thrown interception returned for a touchdown with 11:38 left changed the tide of the game. As Baylor fans' hearts sank at the thought of a TCU victory in Waco, Petty energized his team, letting them know the game was not over. With the help of WR Corey Coleman and RBs Shock Linwood and Devin Chafin, the Baylor offense exploded in the fourth quarter. After marching down the field, Petty and co. handed their fate to redshirt freshman kicker Chris Callahan who, before the game, made one of six field goal attempts.  With four seconds left, Callahan kicked a 28-yard field goal straight down the middle of the posts. The Bears had overcome a three touchdown deficit in the game's last 10 minutes, shocking both students and football fans across the nation. Have a look at the video above to witness one of the greatest comebacks in college football history. P.S. the rivalry is alive and growing...

  1. You know, I still watch this game a lot! I remember looking at the probability graph for Baylor to win the game with my friends during the 3rd quarter and it was at around 2%, and we were all trying to predict our ranking after we "lost". I guess this really proves that it's not over until it's over, because this game was amazing. My favorite part was probably when everybody linked arms right before the final field goal.
