Thank You, Tim Duncan

For lifelong basketball fans, few names stick out as "the greats": Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Tim Duncan, just to name a few. Duncan announced his retirement  after 19 seasons, five NBA championships, two MVP titles and three NBA finals MVP titles. Widely regarded as the greatest power forward of all time, Duncan leaves behind a book full of San Antonio Spurs records and the hearts of basketball fans all across the world. He has made 15 All-Star appearances, 15 All-NBA teams and 15 All-Defensive teams- the most in league history. He's created a legacy with the Spurs- a team on which he's played every season. Duncan also leaves behind point guard Tony Parker and shooting guard Manu Ginobili, with whom he's dominated the court. Another record he holds is with head coach Gregg Popovich, totaling 1,001 victories together (more than any coach and player duo in NBA history). Duncan will forever be remembered for his grace both on the court and off, where he's constantly regarded as one of the most humble and down to earth athletic legends. The game will never be the same.
