Max Holloway Wins UFC Featherweight Title

I used to watch UFC fights all the time as a child. Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Georges St-Pierre, and Chuck Liddell were a few of my favorites. During a fight, my eyes were hooked on the intense strength and skill each fighter possessed and the amount of blood in the Octagon didn't faze me. Nowadays I don't watch many fights as my idols are retired. However, Hawaiʻi's own champion Max Holloway's success has kept me attentive during football and college basketball offseasons. Holloway hails from Waiʻanae and seeks to create a better name for the tiny city. He holds a 17-3-0 record and excels in arm bars and flying knees when facing opponents. On Saturday, Holloway won the undisputed featherweight title in his fight against Jose Aldo. The humble local boy brought the UFC belt back to Waiʻanae and will continue inspiring local children in his journey as #1. Although I don't see much of my childhood favorites anymore, Max Holloway has given me a new star to follow.
